While we are a community group built and run by volunteers, our ambition is to produce the most professional show we can within our modest budget, and to have fun.

We currently have two Major Productions per year in Autumn and Spring, as well as a summer Garden Soiree/Recital in Sassafras, a Concert Party who provide entertainment for Community and business events, and an end of year Production at the cosy Malvern Theatre.

We are always looking to add to our cast, crew, and creatives, and look forward to hearing from you.

 

GENERAL PERFORMING CAST OBLIGATIONS

We expect performers to be aware of the schedule, and have flagged any unavailabilities the moment you become aware of a clash or potential clash, preferably before the rehearsal period begins. You need to take your own notes and learn your role/music/dialogue/moves so the show can grow from a firm foundation. We will provide supporting resources where this is possible.

Facilities that we hire to Rehearse and Perform in place requirements onto GSOV, and in turn onto cast and crew.

If we end up with a mix of youth and adult cast members, all adults may require a Working With Children Check (or equivalent such as a teacher registration).

All cast members are expected to help sell tickets (because it’s more fun with a full house).

There are opportunities and expectations to assist with all things theatrical – set construction, costumes, props, publicity, and administrative tasks – many hands make for light work.

Cast and Concert Party members must become members of the Society, and pay a performance fee per production. Our Costume Manager will advise on personal items you will need to provide such as shoes, undergarments, and basic makeup to complete your costume(s).
