Auditions are invited for our first Season of 2024 : Franz Schubert’s Lilac Time

Director: Robert Ray

Musical Director: Geoffrey Urquhart

Performed in the wonderful garden setting of “The Knowe” in Sassafras.

Auditions will be held on the 26th September from 6:30pm. We will allocate an audition time slot to you when we receive your application.

Auditions and Rehearsals are held at The Victorian Scout Centre, 152 Forster Road, Mount Waverley on the SE corner.  Our entrance is at the lower level with a carpark accessed from Ricketts Road. Further parking is available in an upper level car park accessed from Forster Road, which then has external stair access to the lower level.

AUDITION PIECE: Any lieder, especially by Schubert. Or an art song. Or something from G&S or other opera/operetta.

Proposed Schedule.

Rehearsals begin December 27th at 7:30pm – 10:00pm
They continue every Wednesday 7:30pm – 10:00pm
Every Sunday 2:00pm – 5:00pm
Monday nights rehearsals added from January 22 at 7:30pm – 10:00pm

Note: All cast should be available at these times. However not everyone will be needed at every rehearsal. A schedule will be drawn up for those needed at each rehearsal, taking into consideration any dates you are not available.

Dress Rehearsal: Sunday February 11 from 1:00pm at the performance venue, The Knowe, Sassafras

Performances: February 17, 18, 24, 25, March 2, 3 at 2:00pm. Garden open 1:00pm – 5:00pm
Running time: Approx 2 hours.

In case of rain, we have an alternate venue. In case of Total Fire Ban, the performance will be subject to cancellation.

We will be rehearsing and performing under Public Health Guidelines.
